Mission Grant #10
Healing Your Heart — Faith-Based Child Counseling
Protecting and nourishing the mental health and well-being of children is the mission of Lutheran Counseling and Family Services of Wisconsin (LCFS). Their ministry protects children’s integrity, self-worth, spiritual well-being, and mental health through compassionate Christian counseling.
The outpatient child therapy clinic expanded in August 2023, and the number of children served quickly grew beyond capacity. The clinic now seeks to expand services again to meet the growing needs of children in the Milwaukee community.
As children heal and grow stronger, parents, siblings, and families often experience healing as well. LCFS also deploys trained therapists to community crises to offer Christ’s healing and support.
This mission grant will:
- Increase therapists from five to seven
- Purchase therapeutic toys
- Develop promotional materials for LCMS churches and groups
